The 1999 International Humor Conference in Pictures

Evening Performances (June 29 & July 1)

In addition to the daytime paper sessions at the 1999 International Humor Conference, we had two nights of comedic performances held in Holy Names College's Regents Theater.  On the first night of the Conference, delegates enjoyed the comedy and humor of IMPROVOX, the Therapy Sisters, Ernest Desire the Clown (aka Michael Fandal), and cartoonist Vladimir Kazanevsky.  Rodney Marks and the comedy troupe of Soft-Frito were also scheduled, but unable to attend.  On the third night, we had an evening of stand-up comedy emceed by Terry Sand with Gayla Johnson, Mike Capozzola, and featuring Diane Wasnak of the Pickle Circus.  Following the stand-up performances, we held a joke telling competition with first place going to Larry Ventis (College of William and Mary), second place to Joyce Saltman (Southern Connecticut State University), and Josh Sickel (El Camino Hospital).
